Man Hit, Killed On Highway 99 Near Florin Road

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The body of a man was found on Highway 99 Saturday morning.

California Highway Patrol says they first got a call around 6 a.m. about a possible dead animal on northbound SR-99, near Florin Road.

Once at the scene, the body was found to that of a person.

CHP believes that the man was hit by a vehicle, possibly a big rig, and dragged 200 feet. The man is said to be a known transient in the area.

Traffic was shut down on SR-99 during the course of the investigation. It was reopened just before 10 a.m.
