Sacramento Man Accused Of Taking Pictures Of Girls In Locker Room During Swim Meet

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - Parents caught a man who, they say, was lurking in the locker room at Solano Community College during a swim meet and took pictures of young girls.

Police say they received a call just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday that a man was seen in the female locker room at the college where a swim meet involving children was underway. The caller, who said she was a mother of one of the girls, told dispatch her daughter saw the man in the locker room and was using his cellphone. The child reportedly identified the suspect to her mother, who chased the man into the gym, and, with the help of other parents, cornered him until deputies arrived, according to a statement from the Solano County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Jason Ray Paner of Sacramento. Following his arrest, deputies spoke with other witnesses, and then turned the investigation over to sheriff's department detectives.

Detectives confiscated Paner's phone through a search warrant and say they found photos on it that appear to have been taken in the locker room during the meet.

Authorities conducted a search warrant on Paner's residence and confiscated other electronic devices.

Paner was booked into jail for felony possession of obscene matter depicting a minor, and burglary.

His bail was set at $20,000, which he posted.
