Pedestrian Hit And Killed By Commuter Train In Davis

DAVIS (CBS13) - A commuter train was stopped this morning in Yolo County after it hit and killed a pedestrian in Davis.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m. near County Road 32a, along the north side of causeway. A spokesperson for the Yolo County Sheriff's Department says the person who was hit by the San Jose-bound Amtrak train 521 is a female.

The incident is creating delays to and from the bay area.

Traffic on Interstate 80 is not being affected.

Personnel from CHP, Davis Police Department, Union Pacific Railroad and Yolo County Sheriff's Department are on the scene.

Passengers were moved to train 523 to San Jose.
