I have to give credit to the owner of the Minnesota Vikings, Mark Wilf. Have you seen the news about Adrian Peterson recently?
So, apparently, Adrian Peterson’s agent doesn’t think that it’s in Peterson’s best interest to play for the Vikings next season and beyond. He went on to say, “Why would it be?”
Why would it be? Oh I don’t know. Maybe it’s in his best interest because he’s an NFL running back and hasn’t played for almost a full year. Maybe it’s in his best interest to play because he’s under contract with the team for millions of dollars. Maybe it’s in his best interest to play because he needs some positive PR after the embarrassing pictures that emerged last year. Take your pick.
When asked about the comments Wilf said, “The bottom line is Adrian is an important part of the Minnesota Vikings. He’s represented us on and off the field. We’re getting ready for the 2015 season and we fully expect him to join his teammates and be a part of what we feel is going to be a great season ahead.”
Look, agents don’t run our sports teams. They don’t. If an agent wants to get involved with something regarding the team, the owners will call him or her and tell then they’ll have a conversation. Until then, shut up! That’s what I would tell him if he said something that stupid. Shut up! That’s pretty much what Wilf did.
It’s unbelievable with this whole thing, it really is. You have someone like Peterson who has multiple kids across the country and beat one of them with a switch so badly that it left open wounds making demands like this. Actually, it’s not Peterson making, it’s the agent but you get the point.
You’re telling me that playing for a professional football team in a city that loves you isn’t in your best interest? Really? Why? I don’t get it. I really don’t. And that’s my rant for the day.
