Dogs Rescued From Korean Meat Farm Go Up For Adoption In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A group of dogs saved from being sent to a meat farm in Korea are now up for adoption.

Potential parents were lining up at the SPCA to take home one of the puppies.

The Sacramento SPCA is working to find homes for 10 of the dogs. The dogs are part of a group of 57 rescued from the farm by the Humane Society. Three other Bay Area groups were also part of the rescue.

Sacramento SPCA Director Rick Johnson said they had to get involved.

"The Humane Society International called us and said they were coming to the United States with 57 dogs from South Korea. They wanted to know if we would help out. Our response was 'of course we'll help out we'll try on the house as many as you need housed,'" said Johnson.

Not all the dogs that were saved are available now for adoption. More will become available when they are healthy enough.
