Man Accused Of Severely Beating His 86-Year-Old Mother Arrested In Berkeley

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (CBS13) - A Stockton man accused of brutally attacking his mother is now behind bars in San Joaquin County.

Fifty-five-year-old Randy Howard Francis was arrested on Thursday morning in Berkeley while reportedly driving a stolen 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, according to a Stockton Police Department statement.

On March 14, 2015 around 2 p.m., Francis and another man went to his 86-year-old mother's apartment in the 7300 block of Pacific Avenue. There, Francis suddenly attacked the man, tied him up and stole his car keys.

The man says Francis then allegedly went into his 86-year-old mother's room, violently attacked her and left her clinging to life.

Francis was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail and faces charges of robbery and attempted murder.

Francis' mother is still in critical condition at an area hospital.
