District, Stockton Teachers Reach Tentative Agreement

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Stockton teachers reportedly signed a tentative agreement with the school district early Friday morning.

Stockton Teachers Association President John Steiner said the agreement was reached at 1:30 a.m.

Last month, teachers voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike if they didn't get what they see as a fair contract with the Stockton Unified School District. Negotiations between the district and the teachers union have been ongoing since then.

Details about the new agreement have not been released.

Stockton teachers last went on strike back in 1990 – a strike that lasted nine days.
