Golf Prodigy, 7, Makes Hole-In-One At California Golf Club

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (AP) -- A 7-year-old pulled off something many adults only dream of: a real-life, grown-up-length hole-in-one.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported Thursday that the child prodigy named Brody Mason did It on the 130-yard 16th hole at the Links of Summerly in Lake Elsinore.

Brody's teacher Scott Marson, who's also the head of instruction at the club, says he's never seen such a shot from a player so young.

He says he and Brody couldn't see the ball fall in but they heard the ping of it hitting the flagstick and learned the good news when they walked up to the green.

Marson calls Brody a "phenomenal" player.

Being 7, Brody had to skip the traditional celebration of buying beers in the clubhouse. He got to go out for frozen yogurt, though.
