El Dorado County Man Accused Of Murdering Wife

LATROBE (CBS13) – Authorities have arrested a Latrobe man on accusations he killed his wife.

Roy Roth was arrested and booked for a murder charge early Saturday morning, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says.

Deputies say they were called Friday to check up on 50-year-old Deborah Roth. The concerned caller said Deborah had been missing for several days and would not return any phone calls. Other friends and family of Deborah also reported that no one had heard from her.

The 8000 block of South Shingle Road was soon visited by deputies. The body of a woman, presumed to be Deborah, was then found at the scene.

It is unclear how Deborah died, but Roy has since been arrested and booked at El Dorado County Jail. Roy is facing a charge of murder, plus other charges related to having a warrant out for his arrest and having a prior felony conviction.
