Boyfriend Arrested In Shooting Death Of Sacramento Mother

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of shooting and killing his girlfriend in San Jose in front of their 1-year-old daughter.

San Jose police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Garcia says Andrew Butler was arrested late Saturday by Monterey police and later booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.

Police released a description of Butler on Friday, three days after they say he shot the mother of his daughter, 33-year-old Kendra Gonzales, in a car during an argument.

According to police, he then removed her body and left her on the roadway. Police say Butler ordered two passengers in the back seat to get out and take his and Gonzales's 1-year-old daughter with them. He then allegedly fled.
