Registered Sex Offender Suspected Of Trying To Film Child Porn Video

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Detectives say they have arrested a man suspect of trying to film a child porn video.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, 40-year-old Michael John Leonard was arrested Sunday after an investigation revealed disturbing posts made by him online. Leonard allegedly posted an ad asking for help in producing a child porn video, detectives say.

Further investigation into Leonard revealed more disturbing allegations: that he had been visiting areas where children were present.

Leonard had even been asked to leave some of those areas due to making inappropriate comments, detectives say.

Detectives believe Leonard, who is a registered sex offender, may have also brought children into his home to be photographed.

Leonard is being held at Sacramento County jail on $500,000 bail. He is facing charges of attempting to produce child pornography and attempting to molest a child under 18.
