'Promposal' Graffiti Defaces Culturally-Significant Cliffs

ADA COUNTY, Idaho (CBS13) – Destiny might want to consider other options for a prom date - since the sheriff's office will probably have an eye on whoever she takes.

According to a post from the Ada County Sheriff's Office Facebook, someone spray painted a prom proposal on a cliff over the weekend. A picture taken by the sheriff's office shows big, bright pink and blue lettering that spells out "DESTINY, PROM?"

The big problem? Whoever did so is facing serious vandalism charges, plus a steep fine, the sheriff's office says.

Not to mention, the cliffs are also a culturally significant area for a local Native American tribe.

"We realize prom proposals are a big deal these days but this one was just a really bad — and illegal — idea, which caused some serious aesthetic and cultural damage," the sheriff's office writes.

Maybe Destiny's prospective date would have been better off trying to have her arrested, like one California teen tried for her promposal.

Officials are still trying to figure out how to clean the cliffs, since getting to the area is rather difficult.
