Keeping Your Trees Healthy In The Drought

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – In this drought, we are getting our lawns go brown by shutting up off the sprinklers. But how can we keep our trees healthy?

Deep root watering is one of those ways.

Watering with just your sprinklers could only penetrate about two to three inches of soil, arborists say.

So, in order to best water your trees with a deep watering program, arborists at Davey Tree services have come up with some tips, a few of which we list below:

  1. Deciding what species your tree is so that you can identify how much water they would usually need.
  2. Measuring the efficiency of your irrigation system so.
  3. Understanding your soil density to lessen the difficulty of your water getting to the roots.
