Man Killed In Shooting Outside Rancho Cordova Apartment Complex
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) – Deputies are investigating a shooting in Rancho Cordova that has taken a man's life.
The scene is in front of an apartment complex along the 9800 block of Lincoln Village Drive.
Witnesses say the man was shot from a car and the shooter or shooters are on the run.
Neighbors only heard a few gunshots, but there's about a dozen evidence markers spread out on the street.
"There were kids outside playing when it happened," a neighbor said.
Deputies say a man in his late teens to early 20s was shot in the street in front of his apartment.
Witnesses say the shots came from a car. They say the victim was having a conversation with someone. Moments later, a gun went off and the suspect or suspects drove away.
"We're from Stockton and came out here to move from all that," said neighbor Meghan Ojeda.
The man was taken to the hospital, but he has since died from his injuries.
