Sacramento Teacher Finds Invaluable Lessons Through Education

It's a general consensus by those in higher education that the formative years of a child's mind through positive early educational experiences establishes a somewhat equal playing field for all children, regardless of background. For working parents whose time can't be spent with their children doing educational activities as much as some parents, preschool is an important step in a child's education. For many young adults entering the workforce, this is a chance for job seekers to make a positive impact in their local communities. Lyn Del Rosario, a Sacramento-area preschool teacher working for a private employer, took an opportunity fresh out of college to pursue her career in early childhood education.

Being a teacher, in general, is hard work, but for Del Rosario, seeing the growth in the individual children she teaches makes it all worth it. Preschool education requires her dutifully implement the curriculum set out before her, carefully planning what needs to be done at the start of each week and making sure parents are kept abreast of how well their kids are developing.

When asked what her favorite parts of her job are she responded, "I enjoy watching the children learn and grow." Oftentimes, teaching young adults in junior high or high school can leave teacher's unappreciated as teenagers are dealing with their own personal growth, but it seems for Del Rosario, an unexpected perk of the job is feeling appreciated for her time spent as younger children tend to appreciate the present moment. "I also enjoy it when my children show me that they love me, too"

Equipped with both her associate's degree and her Bachelor of Arts in childhood development, Del Rosario is more capable to handle the rigors of dealing with young minds.

"I wouldn't have the knowledge about children's growth and development if it wasn't for my education," Del Rosario said. Equipped with the right skills and a passion for reaching young minds, she continues to teach.
