Sacramento Mom: Fifth-Grader Received Sexually Explicit Messages, Threats From Classmate

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A mother of a fifth-grader says she's scared for her child's safety after she discovered death threats and sexually explicit on a smartphone.

Dawn Greene says she's not going to allow her child to return to class until she gets answers from the school district.

She shared disturbing threats and sexually explicit messages she says were sent to her daughter from another student.

"She says 'B----, I'm going to kill you,'" she said.

She says she found the message on a family cellphone last week, and that they came from another 11-year-old at Mark Twain Elementary School in Sacramento.

"Nowadays threats can be very deadly," she said.

Greene says the classmate also message in inappropriate photograph.

"And then she sends an explicit photo of her uncle and his girlfriend," Greene said.

She claims the messages also ask her daughter and others to engage in sex acts.

"That she had to participate in sexual acts on school property. Other kids were addressed as well. She was not the only one to perform sexual acts," Greene said.

When she saw the chats, Greene says she immediately took her child out of school and reported the incidents to the principal. She says the district is now investigating.

It's been more than a week since her child walked on campus. She wants the district to discipline the child who made the threats.

The Sacramento Unified School District says an investigation is ongoing into the incident.
