Gym Keeps Dream Alive For Sacramento-Area Sports Stars Looking To Take Next Step

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — It's a local gym where future professional athletes are born.

The drive is very much alive for Sacramento-area sports stars trying to get the attention of college and professional scouts.

Their footwork is fancy, their drive is dominating, and their sweat becomes their second skin in a Sacramento gym where the focus on the future and a lofty goal is at the other end of a very long rope.

Game-Fit Gym on Del Paso Boulevard is where a growing number of young local athletes begin their quest to take their game to the next level, whether it's boxing, baseball, soccer or football.

The pictures on the wall show the faces who have come through the gym and make their way to the professional ranks.

Lem Adams is the man behind Game-Fit. He learned the ins and outs playing in the Arena Football League inside his Natomas garage.

"We had just a two-car garage," he said. "As it's grown and I got kids and kids and things of that nature I felt like I needed to do something a little bit larger so they have some space."

But space without direction is just space. Adams gets inside the kids' heads, prepping the mind as much as the body. for life challenges.
