Shooting In Orangevale Leaves 1 Teen Dead

ORANGEVALE (CBS13) - A teenager is dead after a shooting in Orangevale overnight.

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies say that at 11 p.m. Sunday they received reports of gunshots fired in the area of Skyridge and Norway drives.

When deputies arrived at a home in the 5600 block of Skyridge Drive, they found 16-year-old Erik Glen Ozee lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Early Monday evening, deputies announced that an 18-year-old suspect, identified as Mario Andreas Contreras, was arrested in connection to the incident. Contreras has been booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing a charge of murder.

Detectives say the shooting was not random, but it is unclear what relationship the 16-year-old had with Contreras.
