Police: 8 Minors Arrested After String Of Car Break-Ins In Roseville

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Eight minors have been arrested after an alleged string of car break-ins overnight, police say.

The Roseville Police Department says they fielded numerous calls between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning about a suspicious white van in the Cirby area. Callers reported seeing several people inside the van were breaking into cars.

Officers soon caught up to the suspects near Vernon Street and Lyndhurst Avenue after another caller reported seeing the suspicious van.

Once confronted by officers, police say all the people inside took off running from the van. However, all eight were soon caught by about 4 a.m. Thursday.

Police say one of the suspects had a gun but tried to throw it away while he was running. The gun has since been recovered by officers.

Residents at one apartment complex hit by the suspects said their belongings were scattered all over the street - and one woman found her tires slashed.

"It's like being violated because now we have missing checkbooks and everything out of our car. All kinds of stuff is missing," said resident Amber Rodriguez

All eight arrested are minors, with one being elementary school-aged and the rest being high school-aged.
