Report: Pete D'Alessandro Leaves Kings For Denver
SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) - Pete D'Alessandro is headed back to the Denver Nuggets for a front office position, according to NBA insider for Yahoo Sports Adrian Wojnarowski.
A person familiar with the decision says D'Alessandro is expected to work in a support role under Josh Kroenke, the president of the NBA's Denver Nuggets and NHL's Colorado Avalanche, the AP reports.
"Sacramento Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro has accepted a high-ranking front office job with Josh Kroenke in Denver, league sources tell Yahoo," Wonjnarowski tweeted on Wednesday morning.
He leaves the Kings after two seasons with the organization serving as the General Manager.
The teams have not formally announced the move. Chris Clark Director, Media Relations for the Sacramento Kings declined to comment on the matter.
Sacramento Kings and NBA writer for The Sacramento Bee Jason Jones, tweeted: "can also confirmed Pete D's exit from the Sacramento. What a season it was on the way out. "
D'Alessandro was hired as general manager of the Kings in June 2013 after working in the Nuggets' front office. He fired Michael Malone as coach 24 games into his second season, and as Sacramento continued to slide, owner Vivek Ranadive hired former center Vlade Divac to oversee basketball operations in March.
