Woman Burned During Fire At Modesto Home

MODESTO (CBS13) – A woman was left with third degree burns after a fire all but destroyed her house late Saturday night.

The scene is on Counts Court. The Modesto Fire Department says they were called to the area just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday and found a garage on fire. A boat in the driveway was also on fire.

Crews had to work fast to stop the fire from spreading to the two homes next door.

A total of three-alarms were called, bringing a total of 35 firefighters to the scene.

Firefighters say they were able to keep the fire to the home's garage, but smoke and heat did damage the remained of the home. The utility meters were also destroyed.
