2 South Sacramento Homes Damaged In Fire

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Crews battled a grass fire in south Sacramento that burned at least two homes and threatened others.

The scene is near Jacinto Avenue and Starburst Way. The fire was first reported just after 4 p.m.

Sacramento Fire crews say the fire burned through the roof of one home and damaged a second home. Both homes suffered significant damage, officials say, but it is unclear at this point if the homes are a loss.

The fire burned out of control for just over an hour before being knocked down. Firefighters are now mopping up hot spots.

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire.

The Cosumnes Fire Department helped with the firefight.
