Men Found On Fire, Shot In Placer County Die

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – Detectives say the two men found on fire and shot in the head have died.

A homeowner along the 3700 block of Annabelle Avenue made the gruesome discovery in front of his home late Thursday night. The homeowner went outside after hearing a noise and discovered a fire on the gravel in front of his house.

The homeowner soon realized that it was two men who were on fire.

Authorities who later responded to the scene found that both men, who were still alive, had been shot in the head. One was shot in the head once, the other twice.

Sunday, the Placer County Sheriff's Office announced that the two men had died. The men have been identified as 34-year-old Warrant Alexander Galsote and 33-year-old Jason John Benson. Both were Sacramento residents.

Detectives have renewed their plea for more information and are asking anyone who knows anything about the circumstances surrounding the incident to call them at (530) 889-7854.
