Reports: Father Of Missing Shasta County Infant Killed In Siskiyou County

SISKIYOU COUNTY (CBS13) - The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department confirms Matthew Graham, the father of a missing Shasta County infant who also went missing over the weekend, has been found.

Several news outlets are reporting Graham was killed.

Around 7:45 a.m., CHP officers and deputies were involved in a shooting while searching for a carjacking suspect in Shasta County, according to a Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department statement. They say the suspect is deceased. They stopped short of saying whether the suspect killed was the carjacking suspect they were looking for, or if the suspect was Graham.

Graham was reportedly spotted at a Shell gas station in Shasta County on Sunday, KHSL-TV reports.

Matthew, 23, was considered a person of interest in the disappearance of Baby Ember.

Graham skipped a meeting with his probation officer this weekend and officers say he stole cash and a pistol from his mother before taking off.

At a  press conference on Monday, Shasta County Sheriff'd Department officials would not confirm that Matthew was killed. They said that if he was killed, finding Baby Ember will be much more difficult since he was reportedly the last person to be seen with her.

They also said that Baby Ember, who remains missing, is almost positively dead.
