Family: Doctor Among 5 Found Dead In Modesto Home

MODESTO (CBS13) -- Police say the person of interest wanted in connection to the deaths of five people found in a Modesto home was found in San Jose early Sunday morning.

Martin Martinez, a 30-year-old Modesto resident, was identified as a person police wanted to talk to in the homicide case. Modesto police sent out an alert Saturday night for people to be on the lookout for him and his SUV.

Police in San Jose were also told that Martinez might be on his way to the city to a family member's house.

Late Saturday night, a San Jose police officer spotted Martinez' SUV but no one was inside. Officers later found Martinez at a different location as he was walking to another car.

Martinez was taken into custody by San Jose police and was booked at Santa Clara County Jail. According to Modesto Police, he was booked on suspicion of murder charges.

Police say that Martinez was the father of one of the children found dead in the home and had a past relationship with another victim found in the home. A total of two adults and three children were found dead in the home.

Family have identified one of the victims as Amanda Crews, who worked as a doctor in the Modesto area.

No information on how the people were killed or why has been released by police.
