Sacramento Among Top 15 Cities To Work Based On Job Satisfaction

When it comes to a city with the most satisfied employees, Sacramento made the list. According to Glassdoor's annual survey on the best cities to find a job, Sacramento ranked in the Top 50 for best cities overall but more importantly ranked 14th when it came to overall job satisfaction. Glassdoor's overall survey was based on over 1,100 anonymous salary reports reported by local employees on Glassdoor.com over the period of one year starting last year in April. For job satisfaction, Glassdoor asked employees on a scale of one-to-five (five being very satisfied and one being very dissatisfied) if they were satisfied with their jobs. Simply put, many people in Sacramento like where they work and if you're on the fence whether or not Sacramento is the place for you to accept that job, it would behoove you to keep in mind this little bit of information.

Sacramento beat out other cities, including Houston, and was included amongst its more populous and popular neighbors San Jose and to the south San Diego. Glassdoor further emphasized that, "a bigger city doesn't always mean better when it comes to finding a job, being satisfied in that job and affording a mortgage."

Although unemployment and jobless claims have seen an uptick recently according to the U.S. Department of Labor and the Bureau of Labor Statistics on their most recent press releases compared to last year, Sacramento is doing quite well in certain job areas when it comes to mining, construction, education, health services, leisure, and hospitality. Further giving credence to Glassdoor's study is recent news that Curtis Park Village, one of Sacramento's latest housing developments, wants to submit changes to add more than 95 single-family homes in response to market demand amongst potential new home shoppers. Thanks to developers like Petrovich Development, not only are they providing construction jobs to the local economy, they are providing viable housing options for families who are considering relocating due to increased job opportunities and now, proof of overall job satisfaction.
