Triple-Digit Heat Makes Its Presence Felt Across Sacramento Region

By Kelly Ryan

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Triple-digit temperatures on Tuesday had many residents looking for ways to stay cool.

With temperatures reaching above the century mark inside this Bacon Mania food truck the temperature is sweltering between the fryer and grill.

Those on the outside of the truck tried to beat the heat in Rancho Cordova at Truckin' Tuesday with an array of food trucks. On this day any ice cream flavor was a big hit—even banana.

COOLING CENTERS: Find one in Sacramento

At McKinley Park, you could see the heat coming off the sidewalk. That didn't stop some from canceling their exercise... The triple digits just led to some modification—taking breaks and staying in the shade as much as possible.

Others escaped the heat indoors with the opening of cooling centers like this one in Downtown Sacramento at the Salvation Army.

The heat didn't stop Sacramento River Cats fans from rooting for their team, some even sitting in the beating sun. But the club has measures in place for those who may get overheated.
