Park officials said "Roar" has been providing memories since it first opened in 1999.

"It was our first major coaster and our only wooden coaster," said Lee Munroe, the Six Flags park ambassador. "It's had over 11 million riders."

So far, park officials are keeping quiet about what will replace the ride.
