Fire Near Oakdale Prompts Evacuations

OAKDALE (CBS13) -- Authorities say a fire prompted evacuations in one Oakdale-area neighborhood, though firefighters have have halted the progress of the fire.

The scene is near Rodden Road and the Stanislaus River. Stanislaus Fire says the fire started on the north side of the river, but managed to cross to the south side.

A total of 12 homes are threatened by the flames. One home has been damaged, but firefighters say they are making progress against the flames.
