San Jose Cat Receives Official High School ID

SAN JOSE (CBS13) - A local cat is the newest member of Leland high school in San Jose.

According to San Jose Mercury News, Bubba the cat has been issued an official student body card.

Amber Marienthal and her family adopted Bubba back in 2009, and since then, Bubba has become a frequent visitor to both Leland and Bret Harte middle school, she tells the newspaper. The schools are close to Marientha's home. Bubba is at the campus so often he has been featured in the high school's newspaper, senior magazine and yearbook.

Bubba has 600-plus Facebook friends and is in high demand for an Instagram account.

His family tells the newspaper they would love for Bubba to walk in cap and gown with the class of 2017 -- the group that has been with Bubba through both campuses.

I don't always help with school work, but when I do, I make sure I lay all over your papers and refuse to move.
