Anthony Sadler Returns To Sacramento Days After Helping Stop Attack On Paris-Bound Train

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A hometown hero has returned home days after he and his two childhood friends stopped an armed terror suspect on a train bound for Paris.

Now the focus turns to honoring the three men who made Sacramento and the whole world proud.

Anthony Sadler arrived home on Tuesday evening wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and carrying a backpack as a worldwide hero.

As cameras captured his arrival and reporters scrambled to get a better look, Sadler and his family were escorted away beneath the terminal by the sheriff's department.

Passengers like Mark McElroy who were on the same flight described being star struck.

"Everybody was very proud; people got up during the flight and shook his hand," he said. "One lady I saw handed him an envelope as though she had written him a letter of thanks."

Vince Rosar waited until they landed to give Sadler an enthusiastic thanks.

"When I got off the plane, I made it a point to get over there and say, 'Hey Anthony, thank you so much, well done man,' and he's like, 'Thank you!' He was really cool about it," he said.
