Fire Destroys Placerville Strip Mall
PLACERVILLE (CBS13) - A Placerville strip mall was heavily damaged by fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Around 2:40 a.m., firefighters arrived at the burning building on Broadway, just west of Smith Flat Road, and found it was well-involved in the fire.
Crews were able to put the fire out in about 40 minutes, but by that time, the building had suffered extensive damage.
Fire dispatchers assigned additional crews to the fire to keep it from spreading to nearby vegetation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
