Turlock Church Heavily Damaged In Fire
TURLOCK (CBS13) – A Turlock church has been heavily damaged in a fire Friday morning.
The scene is at the Equip Church near Orange Street and Colombia Avenue. Crews were first called to the scene just before 5 a.m. and heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the building.
Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution because firefighters feared the entire church would collapse.
The roof of the church has since caved in.
At this point, there has been no word on what sparked the fire. However, crews believe the fire started in the church's basement.
