Education Ensures Career Advancement For WordPress Developer

WordPress used to be that one tool that almost all professional and amateur bloggers used. But in today's world of web design, it has become one of the web's premier content management systems. Easy to navigate, friendly with media, apt to growth, and intuitive to the end-user, a good WordPress designed website can become one of your businesses most important allies when it comes to bringing in web traffic.

Enter Sacramento web designer John Locke. After pursuing a thorough education in web design, Locke put his skills to the test designing some of the cleanest and mobile friendly websites that Northern California has seen through his company, Lockedown Design. Working with businesses from industrial equipment suppliers-for-hire to bakeries, Locke's clientele portfolio knows no limit. If you're a business owner in the Sacramento area (or anywhere for that matter) who could benefit from a stronger online presence, it would behoove you to at least give John Locke at Lockedown Design a ring.

What does your job entail?

"I help businesses get more out of their website than they can ever do on their own. I use web design, development and strategy to help them grow their revenue and streamline internal processes."

What parts of your job do you enjoy?

"Working with business owners and making a real difference in their lives. I'm able to be a strategic ally in an important area—web design—that most businesses can't handle by themselves. I help businesses grow their customer base while reducing their stress."

What was your education history?

"To move out of my blue-collar career and into my new career as a web developer, I went to online school for two years straight, on top of working 60 hour weeks. I earned a degree an Associates Degree in Web Design."

Has your education helped you in your current position?

"My education prepared me for the amount of work it takes to succeed in web design and development. My continuing education gave me the foundational knowledge I needed to start, and made me focus on the end goal."

Any advice for someone seeking a similar career?

"If you can go to design school in your twenties, do so. But if you're older, don't let that stop you. There are places where you can continue to get an education from industry veterans, and that knowledge will benefit you in countless ways. Web development is constantly changing, but starting is the biggest part of the battle."
