Investigators: Arson Suspected In North Highlands Fire At Cancer Patient's Home
NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) — A woman battling a rare form of cancer is now trying to pick up the pieces after what investigators are calling an arson fire at her home.
Near the home that burned on Ashcroft Avenue is a pile of debris. It's the remains from a trailer that burned just six days before Monday morning's fire.
Emily Glaspey was both frustrated and disgusted when she learned her mother-in-law's home burned in a suspected arson.

"It's awful. Why? Why? That's my big question is why are you doing this? What is the motivation?" she said.
Less than a week ago, a trailer on their neighbor's property was somehow set on fire early in the morning.
This time it was much worse, sending Glaspey's mother-in-law Sandy Jones running for her life at a time when the 52-year-old was already fighting for her life. She's suffering from cancer and was too distraught to talk on Monday.
"She's going through this cancer for the third time; she can't afford this medication, the doctor has told us if she can't get the medication she needs she is going to have a year to live," Glaspey said.
Her home does appear to be insured, and the family is staying with neighbors so they can watch the home.
