Fairfield Police Investigate After Teen Reports Man Tried To Kidnap Her

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Police say a Fairfield girl claims that someone tried to kidnap her as she was walking to school.

The incident happened Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Fairfield Police Department. A young teen reportedly told her mother that some man grabbed her and tried to pull her towards a creek as she was walking alone on E. Tabor Avenue, near Sunset Avenue.

After a struggle, the girl says she was able to break out of the man's grasp and get away. Police say the girl told her mother about the incident after she got home from school later in the day.

The girl told officers that her and her friends encountered the same man on Sunday. He allegedly tried to offer them alcohol.

Detectives are investigating the incidents and note school resource officers will be patrolling the area where the incidents happened.

The girl describes the suspect as a man who looks to be in his late 30's, about 6' tall, and had a bald head with an unkempt mustache and goatee. He was reportedly wearing a Raiders hat, a red shirt with a green "LRG" logo and dirty jeans in the latest incident.

Anyone with more information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7600.
