Sacramento's Hometown Heroes Honored For Stopping Attack On Paris-Bound Train
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A parade of honor went through the streets of Sacramento on Friday as more than 10,000 people gathered to honor three hometown heroes who helped stop a suspected terror attack on a Paris-bound train.
From classic cars to marching bands to fire trucks, as well as the Consul general of France.
The proud procession finally made way for the hometown heroes riding in on a float down the Capitol Mall.
Three childhood friends who made history while on vacation in Europe were officially given keys to the city and recognized by the state Assembly with a symbolic flyover.
In August, servicemen Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Sacramento State student Anthony Sadler stopped a gunman on a train bound for Paris.
The men had a chance to address their new fans on the Capitol steps.
