Olivehurst Family Left Wondering Why Their Home Was Sprayed With Bullets

OLIVEHURST (CBS13) — Gunshots forced a mother in an Olivehurst home to duck for cover and neighbors to flee for safety.

Those inside the home have no idea why the home was targeted.

The shooting happened on Saturday night, suddenly shattering the peace and quiet.

Bullets flew through Chia Yang Hpao's home, forcing her to lock the door and take cover under her bed.

There are bullet holes from front to back, through the windows and multiple walls, all the way back to the kitchen. Police market gunshots eight and nine, but we counted many more.

Days after the shooting, she's still discovering damage and has no idea who would target her home where she lives with her son and another relative.

The word around is that the shooter showed up knocking on several doors on the street looking for someone in particular. Eventually, they opened fire on the house and the car parked outside.

"I don't know who they were looking for because these guys never cause any problems, there's never any hassles," said neighbor Michelle Leifheit.

She has no doubt the gunman had the wrong house.

"When CSI was out here yesterday, they said it went completely through their house into the neighbor behind them, into their house," she said.
