Lisa Vanderpump Wants To Put An End To Dog Meat Trading In China

(CBS Sacramento) - Lisa Vanderpump from "Housewives Of Beverly Hills" is putting down her diamonds for a moment to focus on something that means the world to her.

During an interview with  Entertainment Tonight, Lisa and her husband Ken talked about putting an end to Yulin Festival in China where they trade dog meat.

Lisa said, "[The festival] was brought to my attention and I was absolutely devastated at seeing this kind of heinous, barbaric torture of these poor animals. I don't feel I could live my life knowing this goes on without making an attempt to stop it."

Lisa along with several other supporters will gather on October 4, to march before the Chinese Consulate in L.A. to protest the festival.

Lisa told Entertainment Tonight about a call she made to Sharon Osbourne, "I phoned Sharon and said, 'You're a dog lover. Same as me. 'I'll do whatever you need,' I won't forget that either because she's a woman who stands up for what's right."

Lisa has always been a dog advocate and owns eight of her own including the famous "Giggy" that appears on the show with her.

Lisa explains, "They truly are man's best friend and I've really come to understand that."
