Memorial Scoreboard For Misty Holt-Singh Aims To Keep Her Legacy Alive

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Her name is now reaching toward the heavens, lighting up the community and hitting a winning run for the sport Misty Holt-Singh was so passionate about.

"It would be a huge deal. She loved sports, she played baseball. She was one of the first girls to play ball and she also played softball, so this is perfect," said Paul Singh, her husband.

An electronic scoreboard was donated to the Oak Park Northern Little League field in Stockton in honor of the 41-year-old mother of two killed in a shootout with police after being taken hostage in a bank robbery.

"I just think it's a really good tribute to give back and to show all of our love and support to the family," a woman at the park said.

Players from leagues all around the region turned out for the friendly ball game and BBQ at the park

While many welcomed the green and white memorial, Misty's widower says it's the staying power that will mean the most to his family and the next generation of athletes.

"She was the most caring, giving person. She was always taking care of kids, helping out wherever she can," Paul said. "This is a perfect way for us to give back."

Two of Misty's nephews also play baseball for the league.
