Fairfield Student Allegedly Tweets Threat Against Classmates

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - A student at Vanden High School has been arrested for allegedly making criminal threats towards people at a local school.

Around 7:30 p.m. Monday a parent contacted the Fairfield Police Department after she was shown a tweet containing a picture of the suspect holding a rifle along with a caption saying he was going to harm people on Tuesday at Vanden High School, according to a Fairfield Police Department statement.

Just after 10 p.m., officers went to the suspect's home where they took him into custody on charges of making criminal threats. The .22-caliber rifle shown in the tweet was found at the home of another family member and taken as evidence.

The juvenile's name is being withheld because of his age.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
