Elon Musk: Apple Is 'Tesla's Graveyard'

SACRAMENTO (CBS Sacramento) - High-tech wizard Elon Musk is throwing some old-fashioned shade at Apple.

"They have hired people we've fired. We always jokingly call Apple the 'Tesla Graveyard.' If you don't make it at Tesla, you go work at Apple. I'm not kidding," said the Tesla Motors founder in an interview with a German newspaper, reports Business Insider.

While many would probably jump at the chance to work at the Cupertino-based tech giant, Apple is the most valuable company in the world. Musk snarkily mocked rumors that Apple is working on a smart car.

"Did you ever take a look at the Apple Watch?" he asked with a laugh.

He added it's a "good idea" but warns that cars are "very complex compared to phones or smartwatches."

Musk's tone is much different from last year, when there were reports he was considering a merger with Apple.

In a story earlier this year, Bloomberg reported Tesla had done its fair share of poaching engineers from Apple.
