Police: Former American River College Student Threatened Violence At School

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police say a former American River College student is suspected of threatening violence at the school.

Kristofer Wayne Clark, 21, was arrested by authorities Thursday evening. The Los Rios Police Department says another ARC student first alerted staff about the threat allegedly made by Clark.

According to the student, Clark verbally threatened to commit the violence on Friday. Police believed the threat to be credible and, with the help of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, had Clark arrested.

The motive behind the threat is unclear and no specific people or groups look to have been targeted.

"My highest commendations go to the student and staff members who acted promptly and appropriately on the information they had, as well as the combined efforts of the Los Rios Police and Sheriff's Department in moving swiftly into action," said ARC President Thomas Greene in a release.

Investigators say there is no reason to believe anyone else is involved in the threat.

Clark is being held at Sacramento County Jail on $250,000 bail.
