Crews Battle 2-Alarm Fire At South Sacramento Auto Shop

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Firefighters say a vehicle fire spread into an automotive shop early Wednesday morning.

The scene is near Franklin Boulevard and 47th Avenue.

Sacramento Fire says three cars caught fire and the flames soon spread to the shop. A second alarm was called and the flames were under control by 7 a.m.

At the peak of the fire, more than 40 firefighters were at the scene.

It was a busy morning for the Sacramento Fire Department. Earlier, crews were called to the scene of a house fire near Lemon Hill and 44th Avenue.

Flames were shooting out of the doors and windows at one point during the fire, the homeowner says.

Everyone inside the home, including a dog, got out safely.

Investigators are looking into what sparked the fires.
