CHP Officer Involved In Crash On Highway 99 In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Authorities believe drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in a crash involving a California Highway Patrol officer.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday on northbound Highway 99 near Morada Lane.

A CHP patrol car appears to have been rear-ended by another car. Both the cars suffered significant damage.

CHP says the officer suffered some lacerations to his face and has been taken to the hospital. The other vehicle involved had six people in it and one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

All lanes of northbound Highway 99 have been reopened since the crash.
