Loved Ones Remember Murdered Goodwill Employee, Search For Suspect Continues
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Friends and family of a blind man found murdered in south Sacramento gathered in his memory Friday.
Frank Knight will be laid to rest as police continue to search for the gunman.
"It's really hard, he was a good friend, he was an exercise in patience, but he was a dear friend," said Christie Roberts, Frank's caregiver.
Roberts fought back tears as she said goodbye to a longtime friend.
"He made a difference in everybody's life that he touched. He was a true friend, he was intelligent and kind and served God," Roberts said.
Knight was shot several times after leaving his apartment for work earlier in October. His baby sister is still searching for answers.
"There is no way to wrap my mind around him," she said. "He would never hurt a fly."
Police are looking for a killer who took the life of a man who was legally blind, partially deaf and was born with cerebral palsy.
"They need to find the people that did it, and I personally don't care if they rot in hell," Knight's sister said.
"If we don't get justice on earth, they'll have to meet their maker and get justice in heaven," Roberts said.
Frank's baby sister says she is staying strong for her kids – and for Frank.
"Very difficult, especially for my children, because he was the only father I had from 10 years old on," she said. "Frank raised us children after my father died, he did everything for my mom, he took care of my mom till the day she died"
Friday would have been Knight's 59th birthday. He worked for Goodwill on Franklin Boulevard for 35 years.
Goodwill is offering a $25,000 reward to find the gunman.
