Petaluma Woman Run Over By Her Own Car

PETALUMA, Calif. (AP) - An 82-year-old Petaluma woman was run over by her own car in a freak mishap that left her with a broken leg.

The Press Democrat reports Saturday Petaluma police received a call late Friday of a woman lying in the road on Ely Boulevard South north of Frates Road.

The officers found the woman in the road with a major injury to her left leg and her car about 50 feet behind her.

Police believe the woman stopped her car near the intersection and got out without setting the parking brake. She then somehow fell or got pulled under the vehicle as it rolled backward and the driver's side tire rolled over her left leg.

The woman's name and condition were not immediately available.
