Roseville Woman Claims She Was Injured By Haunted House

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — A Roseville woman claims a Halloween hit scared her away from a haunted house when a piece of it fell on her head.

Maisey Lopez says part of the wooden wall inside the Callson Manor haunted house left her dizzy, nauseous and confused. She wants it fixed before someone else is hurt.

Officials with the haunted house say they had no idea anyone had been hurt.

"There was a guy in a pig mask and he was following us," Lopez said. "He grabbed onto the wall, part of the wooden structure and like a piece broke off and struck me really hard on the head."

The 22-year-old was halfway through the haunted house at the Placer County Fairgrounds when she claims the attraction malfunction left her dizzy, disoriented and with a red, swollen head.

"I was started to feel really nauseous as we kept on walking and at that point we just had to leave because everyone was concerned and I just didn't want anything to get worse," she said.

The manor was closed when CBS13 went in search for answers, but they did send a statement saying, "We are saddened to hear that someone may have been injured at our Scare Park. We are investigating the incident on our end a we had not heard or know that someone may have been hurt. We will be inspecting that part of the haunt immediately in addition to our daily safety walk through."

It's reassuring news for Lopez, who doesn't want anyone else to walk away with a bump in the night.

"What if this happens to a person a lot smaller than me?" she said. "And it could have been much more serious than what happened in my case."

Because she says she had to leave halfway through the haunted house, she's hoping the staff will also refund her the $29 she spent on her ticket.

She says her head is feeling better, but it's still a little sore.
