Deputies: Weimar Resident Wakes Up To Man Stabbing Him In Head

WEIMAR (CBS13) – Deputies say a man is suspected of stabbing another man in the head as he slept.

The incident happened Friday just before 1:30 a.m. According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers had been receiving numerous calls of a suspicious man looking into homes along Aurora Nova Court with a flashlight.

The man looked like he was trying to get into the homes, callers suspected.

Deputies responded to the area but were soon alerted about a stabbing that happened at another home along the same street.

At the home, deputies discovered a man with wounds to his head. The man told deputies that he was awoken by someone who had gotten into his room and started stabbing him.

The suspect had gotten away by the time deputies showed up, but he was identified as 26-year-old Weimar resident Calen Ryan Dane. Deputies soon found Dane at a home on Ponderosa Way and arrested him.

Dane, who was already on post release supervision for a felony evasion charge, was booked at Placer County Jail. He is facing a charge of attempted murder and is ineligible for bail.

Deputies say the man injured has been treated at the Sutter Roseville Medical Center and has already been released.
