Kings Lit Up By Suns, 118-97

One night after losing at home to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Kings hope an overnighter to Phoenix might remedy their 1-3 start.

That wasn't the case.

Eric Bledsoe score 10 points in the first quarter and Brandon Knight scored all 17 of his points in the second half, leading Phoenix to a 118-97 victory over the struggling Kings.

Sacramento, playing their second straight game without All-Star DeMarcus Cousins, allowed Phoenix to shoot 14-of-23 (61%) from beyond the arc and 54% overall. Twice, the Kings managed to tie the score, but were unable to hold a lead in the contest. After deadlocking the game at 55 in the third quarter, Phoenix put the game away with an 11-0 run. Sacramento have allowed more than 100 points in each of their first four games and gave up 69 points in the second half.

Rudy Gay spent most of the night in foul trouble and was held to just 9 points on 4-of-13 shooting in 30 minutes. As a team, Sacramento's biggest offensive issues were missed free throws and giving away free baskets; they made just 6-of-12 from the foul line and were minus-12 in points off of turnovers.

Kosta Koufos was the leading scorer for the Kings (1-4), who host the Rockets on Friday.
